Daniel A. Casal
Daniel was Chief Commercial Officer of Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (“Bladex”) for six years; being responsible for the implementation and delivery of all financial products to government, financial and corporate entities throughout the Americas. During that period, Daniel’s team originated financial transactions for US$ 30billion, generating net revenues for US$ 450 million.
Before that, Daniel was instrumental in obtaining Bladex’ Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the NYSE. This was the first public listing for a Latin American bank in the New York Stock Exchange, which pave the way for many other Latin America institutions to join the NYSE.
Daniel was the Head of Banco de la Nacion Argentina (BNA) in New York and London. He established the first asset trading desk for BNA in New York, trading in excess of US$ 2 billion in Latin America assets in the late 1980s, reducing through swaps BNA market debt by US$ 500 million. In London, Daniel was in charge of BNA relationship with all European banks and government entities.
Daniel is a member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, an agency founded in 1915 which serves the needy and vulnerable of all faiths in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Daniel is originally from Argentina and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires. Daniel and his wife Liliana live in North Stamford, Connecticut.
